If you intend to nominate a couple to look after your minor children, I want you to consider whether you would still be happy to nominate both of them in the event that they breakup. If it’s your intention to only nominate one person out of the couple, just enter their details only.

Don’t forget to include a backup if your first choice or choices are unable or unwilling to take on the role.

If you’re not comfortable with the other surviving biological parent looking after your child if you died, or if there are any relevant family law orders in place, please make a note of this.

If you have young children, the people you nominate as guardians will hopefully turn out to be place markers until such time that your children are old enough to look after themselves. We can simply update your Will to either amend or remove the guardianship clause at that time.

Once your Will is prepared, we will provide you with a copy of our Workbook which you can fill out in your own time. It has sections about your wishes and values with respect to your child’s living arrangements, their education, general development and your wishes regarding how they invest or spend their inheritance.
