When does a Power of Attorney end?

A Power of Attorney will end:

When you die

If you cancel or revoke it (while you still have capacity)

If you become bankrupt

If one of your joint attorneys dies or loses capacity (unless the document says the other can continue)

If a court or tribunal orders that it ends

It’s also possible to set an expiry date or include specific conditions for when it should stop.

At Rayners Lawyers, we make sure your Power of Attorney is clear, secure and legally sound—from start to finish.

Make sure your power of attorney includes all the right details. Get expert help from our team.
