In most cases, a verified immediate family member can request for your social media accounts to be removed. But what if you want someone to have access to your emails or your extensive photo collections? Do you want your Facebook account to be taken down? Or do you want it left as a memorial?
Give your testamentary social media wishes some thought and consider including them in your Will along with a general power for your executor to deal with your digital assets.
I recommend that you write out a separate list of all your online accounts, with user names and associated passwords as well as the trusted, designated person you want to handle them.
